Bangladesh Maritime Law Society (BMLS) along with London College of Legal Studies (South) and Technical Partner MCLaw Services Ltd. organized a workshop titled ‘Three-Day Special Short Certificate Course: Introduction to Maritime Law and Practice’.

The inaugural ceremony of the workshop was graced by Honorable Chief Guest, Rear Admiral (retd.) Md. Khurshed Alam Mphil., ndc, psc, BN, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bangladesh and the closing ceremony of the workshop was graced by Honorable Chief Guest, Mr. Justice AFM Abdur Rahman (Retd) alongside renowned speakers from Bangladesh’s maritime community including the President of Bangladesh Maritime Law Society (BMLS) Advocate Mr. Mohiuddin Abdul Kadir, Advocate Ms. Shweata Mishra, Head of Chambers of MCLaw Services Ltd., Mr. Mohammad Obaidullah Ibne Bashir (Obaid Bashir), from Department of Shipping, Bangladesh and Dr. Khaled Hamid Chowdhury, Head of Laws, London College of Legal Studies (South).

Our President, Advocate Mr. Mohiuddin Abdul Kadir, representative of Bangladesh at CMI – Comité Maritime International took several sessions of the workshop on various topics such as Introduction to Admiralty Law and Maritime Claims; International Trade Incoterms and Carriage of Goods.

In addition, Our Co-Ordinator, Advocate Ms. Shweata Mishra took several sessions on the topic of ‘Introduction to Shipping and Shipping Documents’ and delivered the closing remarks.

Attendees consisting of professionals from Banglalink, Learned Advocates, Barristers and Legal Associates from various Law Chambers, Lecturer from Eastern University, students from various universities including London College of Legal Studies (South) participated in the workshop.

It was a unique journey to enhance the knowledge of Maritime Law and Equip oneself with the practical skills indispensable for success in the Maritime Industry.
