Mr. Mohiuddin Abdul Kader, Advocate, Supreme Court of Bangladesh, MSc (Wales), LLB, LLM (Soton), FNI, FCILT, FCIArb, Master Mariner, is the distinguished leader at the helm of BMLS. With 40 years of supreme expertise, he brings a comprehensive understanding of shipping, maritime law, construction law, and international arbitration. His adept leadership has propelled BMLS to new heights.
He has been invited to various prominent national and international fora as a keynote speaker on the subject matter of International Maritime Legislations, Maritime Safety, Sustainable Blue Economy, Seafarer’s Right, Construction Law, documentary credits, and matters related to logistics and transport.
As the president of the Bangladesh Maritime Law Society (BMLS), Mr. Kadir represents these organizations on the international platform, namely in Comité Maritime International (CMI) with his immense experience, he contributes significantly to the growth and development of Maritime Law and Sustainable Blue Econom
President's Message
BMLS, a member of Comité Maritime International (CMI), is a non-profit, non-political and non-governmental society. Our main goal involves pushing for the progress of maritime law as well as maritime legal profession in Bangladesh. We aim to harmonize them with global norms while promoting a sustainable blue economy. This objective has been our driving force during past year, and will keep guiding us ahead too.
BMLS has accomplished much in advancing maritime law and helping the marine legal profession grow in Bangladesh. BMLS became a member of Comite Maritime International (CMI) some years ago, showing how its influence reaches across the world to improve practices within global maritime industry.
BMLS is deeply committed to leading the way in Bangladesh’s maritime sector. The society regularly organizes different programs, workshops, seminars, conclaves and conferences that aim to meet the changing requirements of stakeholders involved in this field. BMLS steadfastly dedicated towards being agents for change by promoting legal excellence and inventive resolutions which can continually propel the sustainable advancement of Bangladesh’s maritime space.
